Cisco invites individuals to tell us their story of how they use or would use Cisco
TelePresence in their work lives – how they might connect to co-workers or peers
in other locations; the benefits they would uniquely reap; why they would be the
ideal person to use a Cisco TelePresence system.
The following time periods apply to the Contest:
-
ELIGIBILITY. The Contest is open to individuals who: (1) are at
least 21 years of age as of the Contest start date and (2) work or have worked within
a professional organization that uses technology ("Contestant" or "you"). Employees
and internally vendored contractors of Cisco Systems, Inc., and its parents, subsidiaries,
agents, promotion partners, and affiliates (collectively, the "Contest Entities"),
and their respective immediate families and household members are not eligible to
participate. Employees and internally vendored contractors of governments, government-affiliated
companies or organizations are not eligible to participate. Residents of the province
of Quebec in Canada, Cuba, Italy, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Myanmar (formerly Burma)
and Sudan are not eligible to participate. The Contest is void in these countries
and where otherwise prohibited or restricted by law. Sponsor reserves the right
to limit, or restrict upon notice, participation in the Contest to any person at
any time for any reason in its sole discretion.
-
HOW TO ENTER. Online submissions only. Create a video about how
you have used or would like to use Cisco TelePresence technology ("Video"). Refer
to Section 3 below for more details regarding the requirements for your Video. Enter
your Video in the Contest during the Submission Period by following the three (3)
step entry process below.
Videos must meet the requirements of Section 3 below. Videos not meeting the requirements
as set forth in these Official Rules, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion,
will not be eligible for judging and will be disqualified. All Videos suspected
by Sponsor in its sole discretion of violating the proprietary rights of any third
party (including intellectual property rights and rights of privacy/publicity),
or any local, state or federal law(s) will be disqualified.
This Contest is governed by these Official Rules as well as the
www.cisco.com website Terms and Conditions and the Contest Site Acceptable
Use Policy, both of which are incorporated by reference.
IMPORTANT: You must complete all of the following steps in order to ensure your
Video is submitted into the Contest:
Step One - Registration: Go to
www.whyiwantciscotelepresence.com ("Contest Site") and complete the registration
form, providing all information requested, and agree to these Official Rules.
Step Two – Upload your Video: Follow the instructions at the Contest
Site to upload your Video. The registration form and your Video are collectively
your "Submission."
Step Three – Confirmation of Entry:
-
Once you click the "Register" button, you should see a page that confirms that your
Video has been received and submitted into a review process. Your Video will be
reviewed to ensure that your Submission complies with these Official Rules.
Please note that at this point your Submission is undergoing review, and is not
yet considered a valid Entry into the Contest.
Submissions that do not include all required information and do not adhere to the
requirements in these Rules will be considered void and will not be considered in
the judging of this Contest. Each Contestant can provide more than one contest entry. An Approved Entry is defined as a Video that has
been submitted through the process above in conjunction with the required registration
information and that has been accepted into the Contest and posted on the Contest
Site. The same Video may not be registered for the Contest more than once.
The Sponsor’s clock is the official time keeping device for this Contest. Submissions
must be received by the date and time listed above to qualify. No hand, mail or
e-mail deliveries will be accepted.
None of the Contest Entities are responsible for late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected,
incomplete, void, corrupted, garbled, illegible, and/or unintelligible Submissions,
or for any problems, bugs or malfunctions Contestants may encounter when submitting
their Submissions. Only complete valid Submissions will be accepted. Sponsor will
not verify receipt of Submissions. Incomplete, garbled, corrupted or otherwise illegible
Submissions are void and will not be accepted. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify
false Submissions or Submissions suspected of being false. Except as otherwise expressly
stated in these Official Rules, all Submissions, once made, become the sole property
of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
-
SUBMISSION FORMAT AND CONTENT REQUIREMENTS.
-
Technical Requirements: The maximum file size for any video file
uploaded to the Contest Site is 200MB. Video file(s) submitted must be provided
in one of the following file formats: .avi, .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .mpeg or .wmv.
Be sure to save your Video in the original format after uploading
it to the Contest Site. If you are a Selected Contestant, you may need to provide
Sponsor with your Video in its original format in order for the Video to be used
in certain formats.
-
Length and Language Requirements: The Video must be no longer than
three (3) minutes in length, including any tags, and must be primarily in English.
-
Originality: You warrant and represent that your Video:
- is original and has been legally created, and that you own all rights to your Video
including, without limitation, the copyrights in the recording and the elements
and performances contained therein;
- does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights or any
other legal or moral rights of any third party;
- has not been entered in previous contests or won previous awards;
- has not been published or distributed previously in any media; and
- complies in all respects with the requirements set out in these Official Rules.
-
Third Party Rights. While Videos may feature products from Cisco
and its affiliates (i.e. Linksys, Scientific Atlanta cable boxes), the Video should
not include the Cisco logo unless it is physically part of a Cisco product. Legal
considerations may also restrict your ability to depict recognizable third party
marks, copyrights or brands without proper licenses. Your Video must not contain
any elements that would infringe upon any third parties’ rights (intellectual or
otherwise) including any commercial content that: 1) promotes any product or service
other than one owned or branded by Sponsor, or 2) disparages the Sponsor, its affiliates,
partners, customers, competitors or any third party in any way. This means that,
all trademarks, service marks, copyrighted materials, including names on any and
all props used in the filming of the video, and venues must be generic in nature
unless specifically approved by Cisco. Sponsor’s determination as to whether the
Submission potentially violates the rights of any third party is final.
-
Permissions and Releases.
- You acknowledge that you are responsible for obtaining any and all documents, policies
and authorizations necessary to make your Video, including but not limited to publicity
releases, permits, venue permissions as may be necessary; and you warrant and represent
that you have done so and can make written copies of such permissions available
to Sponsor upon request.
- You specifically warrant and represent that you have obtained permission from each
person whose name, image, likeness and/or voice ("Likeness") is included in your
Video, and that such person(s) has/have granted you all necessary rights to use
the person’s Likeness as described in these rules, and that you can make written
copies of such permissions available to Sponsor upon request. If the Likeness of
a minor is included, such grant of rights must include written permission from the
minor’s parent or legal guardian authorizing the use of the minor’s likeness on
behalf of the minor.
- Your Video must be produced using non-union (e.g., SAG) talent or talent that have
not been and are not currently under any union or guild agreement that results in
any ongoing obligations resulting from the use, exhibition or other exploitation
of the Video.
-
Additional Content Limitations. The Video must not include anything
in its theme or language anything that would offend parents whose younger children
view the Video, and must not include any nudity, sex, explicit activity, violence
or drug use, nor any references to same. The Video must not contain content that
would receive a rating higher than G under MPAA standards.
Once you register and upload your Video in the Contest, your Submission is final
and may not be modified or edited. The person named on the Contest Registration
form for the Submission will be deemed the Contestant. In the event of dispute regarding
the identity of a Contestant, the dispute will be resolved in favor of the individual
who is the "authorized email account holder" of the email address provided at registration.
"Authorized email account holder" is defined as the natural person assigned an email
address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization
(i.e., business, education institution) responsible for assigning email addresses
for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Neither Sponsor nor
any of the Contest Entities are liable for any disputes between collaborators related
to a Submission.
All Video will be reviewed before being published or judged; however, publication
of a Video does not mean the Video has been deemed to be in compliance with these
rules. Videos that do not comply with the Contest Site Terms of Use or these Official
Rules or that otherwise contain prohibited, inappropriate, or irrelevant content
as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified and will
not be considered for a prize.
In addition, the four winners will receive 5 hours of Cisco TelePresence via Meeting on Us. Scheduling will be managed at the completion of the contest. Details on Meeting on Us can be found at www.ciscomeetingonus.com. Winners will be responsible for all expenses associated with travel to the nearest Meeting on Us location.
-
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY.
Proof that you uploaded a Video does not constitute proof or evidence that it was
received within the Submission Period or eligible for the Contest. By uploading
a Submission, Contestant irrevocably grants Sponsor and its affiliates, legal representatives,
assignees, agents and licensees, the unconditional and perpetual right and permission,
royalty-free, to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast,
display, publicly perform, adapt, exhibit and/or otherwise use or reuse (without
limitation as to when or to the number of times used), the Contestant’s Submission,

regarding his/her participation in this Contest (with or without using the Contestant’s
name) in any and all media without limitation as to time or territory, and without
additional compensation or approval from the Contestant or any other party. Contestant
waives intellectual property rights, privacy/publicity rights or other legal or
moral rights that might preclude the Sponsor’s use of the Submission, and agrees
not to sue or assert any claim against the Sponsor for the use of the Submission
or Contestant’s Likeness or statements.
Contestant agrees to indemnify and hold Sponsor, its agencies and Contest Entities
and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, agents, co-branders or other
partners, and any of their employees (collectively, the "Indemnitees"), harmless
from any and all claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable attorneys’
fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by any third
party against any of the Indemnitees due to or arising out of the Contestant’s Submission,
or the Contestant’s conduct in creating a Submission or otherwise in connection
with this Contest, including but not limited to claims for trademark infringement,
copyright infringement; violation of an individuals right of publicity or right
of privacy; or defamation. Contestant further agrees to release Sponsor from any
and all claims that any advertising subsequently produced, presented, and/or prepared
by or on behalf of Sponsor infringes Contestant’s rights with regard to any elements,
characters or ideas contained in any Submission.
